This has been my first month seeking sponsors for The Emotion Machine and so far I am really pleased with how it’s going. I personally find it a lot more fun than Google Adsense, as I get to advertise blogs and sites that I actually enjoy and want to see succeed. Not to mention, most of these people are online friends of mine who I interact with frequently via e-mail, Facebook, and Twitter. It’s nice being able to support people who you already know.
Here’s where you come in. I would be incredibly appreciative if you could check out these guys sites, become fans, give them comments, and subscribe to their newsletters. They each have something very valuable to offer their readers and I want to help get the word out – I wouldn’t let them be sponsors otherwise. At the very least, I hope you check them out.
Living Authentically is a great self development blog by Evan Hadkins that has been around since April 2007. Evan focuses a lot on discovering your core values and living in accordance with them. As a result, he is very respectful of different points-of-view, and he often encourages his readers to think for themselves and not just take anything he says for granted. His personal philosophy on personal development is really refreshing to me because he doesn’t claim to know everything and he is very critical of a lot of the bull crap that is often spouted on other related sites that claim to be sole authority on a lot of personal development matters. If you are looking for a down-to-earth and very knowledgeable site to help expand your personal development efforts, I highly recommend checking out his site.
Recent posts of his that caught my eye:
The Best Brain Possible is a mental health blog by Debbie Hampton. Debbie has a provocative story – she became really interested in personal development after getting a global acquired brain injury (ABI) after attempting suicide. She is now making remarkable changes in her life through meditation, exercise, diet, self-administered cognitive-behavioral therapy (especially reframing), and a myriad of other mental health strategies and tips. She shares everything about her recovery on her blog, and much more.
Recent posts of hers that caught my eye:
Practically Intuitive is a spirituality and personal development blog by a very insightful woman named Lisa Wechtenhiser. Lisa is what is known as a clairaudient intuitive – she can “tune in” to the frequency of spiritual guides and hear them clearly. They offer support, validation and very often concrete steps to get past blockages and move forward in your life. She has an extraordinary ability to be empathic toward others and discover what is bothering them deep-down. She is also trained as a counselor in psychology.
Recent posts of hers that caught my eye:
That Dragon Fly Stuff is an all natural soothing balm developed by Ellen Harris. It is produced in Oregon and includes Shea butter, Emu oil, Arnica, Ginger and a mix of essential oils. You can find out more about it (and get in contact with her) through her Facebook page. She is currently shipping bottles nation-wide for $13 a jar.
