Fellow atheists Richard Dawkins, a British evolutionary biologist, and Daniel Dennet, an American philosopher of science, discuss the meaning of life and death. It is nice to see these materialists have a heart-to-heart and not forget the importance of meaning in our understanding of the world.

As a believer I find it extremely difficult to understand where the instructions for how to build a cell, much less a human being or an earthworm came from initially. Our DNA is a fabulously complex program. Who wrote the code?
Are we to believe is just came about by random chance?
Correct! Codes are not naturally – occurring. There are no scientific proof any naturally – occurring code in this world. Scientists know that. Codes are created by a concious mind. and who else could create such codes that are imprinted on our DNA's?
It could be a spontaneous order governed by natural laws. Sure, we could argue that God first set those laws in motion. I'm not as atheist as Dawkins and Dennet and I'm usually open to alternative explanations for God.
All I can is "When Science cannot explain it, our Faith Kicks in" or something like that
Is that a rational response though? Just because you can't explain something doesn't give you free reign to make up your own explanations.
Nice video. Lots of reflection about life and death. Good thing Dawkins and Dennet talked about it and captured from a video.
This video is quite exceptional. Known more facts regarding life and death. Would like to see more episodes.
I'm not an atheist, but I do like what Dawkins and Dennet have to say about appreciating life, history and nature.
My recent post Don’t Let Paint Colors be The Show Stopper
I'm not an athiest either, I like what Dawkins and Dennet say too. Just because God is not in the picture doesn't mean that morality shouldn't be.
The contemplation of life and death is always existing in my mind. Not because I am obsessed with death but because it makes me love life more. They are right it is a privledge to be here on the earth. They are also right about being bored and the likelyhood of our existance is astounding. I will think twice the next time I feel bored and sorry for myself. Thanks for the video and this post.
